Welcome to my new blog. When I first heard about blogging, I NEVER, EVER had any interest in creating one. Nowadays every photographer has one, so I began to feel left out! In all honesty I don’t think I will be blogging every day, because the truth of the matter is I have waaaay too much on my plate and barely have the time to make my bed in the morning! So welcome to my blog, please visit, post your comments, and tell me how you’re doing –I would love to hear from you!
2008 was a very exciting year for me, this is when I decided to pursue my life-long passion of Children’s Photography and turn it into a business. Photographing children began for me when I was 13 years old after finding my father’s 1970 Pentax camera in the garage –when I peeked through the view finder I was in AWWWW!
I still remember my first photo shoot at the tender age of 13; I dressed up my little sister in a sailor hat, her sailor shirt and I diligently displayed four Duran Duran albums in the background that served as great props (so I thought
). I made sure to ever so gently swoop her long blond hair to the right side of her shoulder. I began to take classes and turned my parent’s bathroom into my darkroom, developing my photos and seeing them come to life was for me the coolest thing ever!
I spent years off and on as a hobbyist…. Fast forward to 1999 through 2006 I had the privledge of working in the world of Publicity for Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Studios. It was a great experience to be able to work on some of the most amazing films ever made. I worked on countless photo shoots with some of Hollywood’s most popular “A” list celebrities and some of the industries most respected photographers. As I witnessed these extravagant photo shoots, I always wondered what it would be like to be a professional photographer and only visualized that one day I would be the one behind the lens. In 2006 I had my second child, Julian Cesar, and it was then I decided to become a “Stay at home working mom.” A year went by and I began to think of what I could do for work, it didn’t take long before I realized that my answer was obvious as I sat and looked at my father’s Pentax camera –which know adorns my office and often use it as a paper weight. I feel extremely blessed to be doing something I truly love –pictures speak to me, and I hope that my work speaks to you too….
I want to take a moment to thank those that have helped me along my journey. Thank you to my father who believed in me and bought me a new camera –so that I wouldn’t have to use his Pentax camera any longer. My cunies (brother-in-law) Brian who is an amazing photographer himself. Brian knows every technical aspect about a camera, new ones and old ones; he just blows me away with his knowledge. Thank you, thank you “Cunies” for all the photography conversations and your wealth of knowledge that you have passed on to me. My amazing sister-in-Law Amy for creating everything from my logos, to my business cards. If you ever need anything from a cool birthday invitation or even your wedding invitations, logos, stationary etc… Amy rocks at this! You are amazing Amy, and I’m so lucky to have you as my sister-in-law, but most of all my kids are so lucky to have you as their aunt. My computer definitely wouldn’t have been up and running and able to handle the thousands of photos I haveto archive if it wasn’t for my brother-in-law Hagop, he has helped me with every aspect that has to do with my computer, thank you Hagop for all the support calls, what would I do without you! To my family and friends –you know who you are, thank you, thank you for seeing the beauty in what I do and for encouraging me to pursue my passion; your constant compliments truly gave me strength to pursue my passion. My biggest thank you goes out to my amazing husband Jesse and my children Nevaeh and Julian. If I sat here and wrote out all the reasons to thank my husband and children, this would take up another 3 pages, so I will keep it short. Thank you my little kiddies for being my top models and saying cheese on command, your beautiful smiles melt my heart. Jesse thank you for being my number one cheerleader, and my number one support, you have been by my side since day one and together we are an amazing team. Thank you for all the times you’ve sat next to me so patiently as I’ve scrolled through thousands of photos and asked you “Which picture do you like better…” you have the utmost patience for me and I am most thankful to God and my mother-in-law for giving me such a wonderful gift.
If you actually took the time to read all of this, I thank you! I feel incredibly blessed to be doing something I absolutely love!
On occasion, I will often hold special promotions. So make sure you check my blog on Holiday’s for those or contact me to put you on my email blast to be notified of my specials.
I will start off by posting some work from my latest sessions from my “Mother’s Day Special-Mommy and Me” special.
This is Ninoska and her kids, yes the boy is her son if you could beleive that! Ninoska is an old friend from high school and it was so much fun to re-connect with her via Facebook! Her smile always lit up a classroom, and as you can see she hasn’t changed!

This is Bernadette and her “mini me” Beatrice. Initially Beatrice refused to smile, her father was trying so hard to make her laugh, he was practically doing cart wheels behind me! I told Bernadette to throw her up in the air and start swinging her around –every kid loves this right! as soon as she started doing that –BINGO! as you could see Beatirce smiled for me in every frame after that –yeah Beatrice!

This is Jenny and Malia. Jenny is an old family friend, and every time I see Jenny with Malia she blows me away with her parenting skills, she’s an amazing mother and Malia is so lucky to have such a great mom! Malia is a little ham, she’s super smart and loves to rock out to Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers, she loooooves to dance, and Jenny always gets a kick out of seeing her perform, so I thought it would be fun to capture this moment. When I turned on my IPOD on full blast (I played a Hannah Montana song of course), I asked Malia to dance she did not hesitate for one second!

This is Davina and her cutie patootie Hudson. Hudson was all smiles the entire time!

This is the Kerr Family. Heidi has her hands full with three boys, two of them being twins!

This is Nawzat and her handsome boy Tyler. Tyler is full of energy! and it was tough to get him to stay still, but I quickly grabbed his attention after introducing him to the good ‘ol fart machine –he would not stop cracking up after that!

While I’m on the subject of mother’s, I had a lovely mother’s day along with my mammasita, and I convinced her to let me take a photo of her, we’ll it didn’t take much to convince her
. My mother is an amazing person, when I think about her I sometimes cry at the thought of how wonderful I think she is –truly! My mother is without a doubt the nicest a person I know, she is the most forgiving person, she sees the good in everyone, she has a heart of gold, and she is an incredibly strong person, she’s ALWAYS smiling, and is always so happy, she loves life, she loves herself and she’s an amazing cook and loooooves to dance! As a kid, I always felt so lucky to havea mother like her, fortunately for me and my siblings, she was a “stay at home mom,” so she was always there for me and attended every single event I had in school. My mother made everything fun when we we’re kids, she was super creative, and always made everything beautiful and decorated the house for every Holiday. When we we’re kids, my mother loved celebrating every holiday, she was so good at this; on Valentine’s she would write all over our mirrors with lipstick, on Christmas we we’re spoiled rotten! she’d have a great birthday party for us every year. Mom thank you for being such an amazing mom, Feliz Dia De Las Madres!
By the way have I mentioned that she’s single?! so if anyone knows of a great man who would make a good match for my mom –bring it!

The Musitano family welcomed me into their lovely home to take their family photos. Their son Jack was super duper cute and kept me on my feet! here are some of my favorites:

This is Alissa, she looks like a porcelain doll! I got one smile out of her at the very end, but then again I photographed her in 5 minutes! Although I have to say I luuuuuuuv when kids do this “non-smiling look” and Alissa totally rocked that look –she is stunning!

christina m.: OMG! what amazing pictures of mia...she is so beautiful! xo
