DSC_0044 brnframedThank you so much for checking out my blog.   If I know you and you are my family or friend, thank you so much for wanting to check out my latest, I am always eager to share my latest work with you and am touched that you are interested in seeing it.  If you are a potential client, thank you so much for your interest, the long version of my story is on my website under “About Monica”  so check it out if you are interested in my background in photography.  The short  and sweet version of me and photography is simply this:

I’m a mother of three precious children, my daughter Nevaeh is 6, my son Julian is 3, and my little girl Natalia Ava is just a couple months old.  My husband Jesse and I I have been together and married now for a total of 19 years –he’s an amazing husband and I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful person to share the rest of my life with.

I’ve been obsessed with photography since the age of 13, since then my interest has always been children.  I’ve taken many classes, workshops to expand my knowledge in photography.  I’ve always had an eye for photographing children, and feel that I have an instant conection with them, every child is so unique ans special in their own way, and that’s what I love to capture. I feel incredibly blessed to be doing what I’ve always visualized myself doing.

My Natalia is growing up so fast!  She sits up all on her own now and has two pearly white teeth!

Doesn’t shopping put a smile on every girls face!  For me happiness is stepping out of the house on a Saturday morning ALL ALONE and hitting the garage sales in my neighborhood –and look what I found today!  The most expensive item is the big 1920’s suitcase that was only $10, everything else was $5.00 or less!  Can’t wait to use these fun props for my upcoming photo shoots.  In fact I have one tomorrow with a little boy and some old vintage trains, I’m thinking these suitcases will fit the part perfectly….

Little Emily’s face was like porcelain, it was flawless!

Isabella is one of my most dedicated clients!  I get to photograph her approx. every 3 months, and we have a blast every time! she’s so cooperative and sweet as pie!

Tila’s mom and dad drove for over an 1 1/2 to get to me, so I was determined to get the shots I had envisioned for little Tila.  For the first hour she was wide awake, but after that she fell into the deepest sleep and nothing was going to wake her up, not even me!  yeah!

This is my niece Tatiana and she’s shy as can be, but this day she worked it!  I blasted the fan on her, and just like that her demeanor turned into a supermodel –rolling her head around, some hip action and all.  Her and my daughter Nevaeh are best buds, and they are so lucky to have each other.  Ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, and her response — “a photographer like my Tia” –that’s me !

I will most definitely never  forget these two dolls names, because my daughter’s name is Natalia Ava –too funny!  I had so much fun photographing these two beauties!

Miguel: Absolutely Beautiful!

katie: Oh she is beautiful! Great job!

This little ray of sunshine is my first cousin,  she’s so much younger than me, that I would prefer to call her my niece!  I just wanted to bite her legs instead of taking pictures of her!  This fabulous couture dress actually belonged to Marlowe’s mommy, and was made by her grandmother.  When my cousin showed up with this little number for her to wear, it literally took my breath away.  I encourage you mommies out there to save your little one’s gorgeous outfits so that they could pass it on to their little one’s.  Little Marlowe gave me a whopping 18 minutes to take photos of her, after that she was over it, nevertheless I got some cute one’s of her.

katie: These turned out soooo cute! You are such a pro already!

I first met Olivia when she was 6 months old, she’s now a year old with a head full of hair! She is nothing short of simply gorgeous!  I had such a fun time looking at the sparkle in her beautiful eyes through my lens.  A few weeks before our session, Olivia’s dad James contacted me to tell me that he wanted to propose to Olivia’s mom Isela the day of our shoot and he wanted me to capture ”the moment.”  The plan was that I would give Olivia a music box to play with as a prop when taking family photos, in it was the bling, bling and everything went just as planned.  The look on Isela’s face was major shock! she lit up big, I mean REALLY big!  With little Olivia on dad’s lap, he very proudly asked his soul mate “will you marry us.”  It was a beautiful thing to witness under this gorgeous tree at sunset, the lighting was perfect! Here are just a few photos of “that moment.”

Here they play with the “prop.”

Together James and Olivia open the box.

Isela is so surprised –she lit up!

No not surprised, she’s shocked, heart felt, and soooo happy!

He joyfully puts the ring on her finger, and little Olivia witnesses the moment….

She says yes of course and they seal the deal with a smooch over their darling Olivia!

Olivia and Mommy celebrate –I think Olivia is super excited!!!

And James celebrates even harder with Olivia!

This is my Nevaeh , for months her front tooth has been loose and finally it fell out!  Yes, she put on the lipgloss herself!  She was so reluctant to take these photos.  I finally convinced her when I told her she could watch TV all day if she let me take them –what can I say,  anything to get photos of my little ones!
