Monica Martin Photography Blog bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I’m always so eager to showcase my latest work! I’m a Los Angeles based photographer, a mother of three precious children, and a wife to the same man for 20 years.

My passion for photography started when I was 13 years. For years I was simply a hobbyist. When I became a mom for the second time with my son, I decided I wanted nothing more than to become a "stay at home working mom." It was then I rediscovered my love for photography. Becoming a children’s photographer is something I've always dreamed of, really I always just envisioned it but never did I think I would be where I am today. I can’t tell you how incredibly lucky I feel to be doing something I absolutely love, it’s such an incredible feeling! I hope to have the opportunity to capture photos of your family! It would truly be an honor to give you the gift that lasts a lifetime and will be passed on for generations to come…

Inspiration is Everywhere!

Styling my photo sessions is something  I get so giddy about. I truly enjoy the process of incorporating props into a session and creating that perfect set up. I get my inspiration from everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Every time I see something I love I always try and think about how I can incorporate it into a session. I was flipping through a Macy’s catalog and saw this ad, it took my breath away and instantly visualized myself in it taking a nap with the air every so softly blowing through my hair and the curtains! HAHA! Then, my second thought was how cute it would be to create this for a newborn session. So with my $1 bamboo sticks, and an old sheer curtain I had, I put this little cute bed together.  Now if only I can convince a mother to have her newborn session at the beach;)

Ivan and big brother Damien

Initially I was a little concerned with this session because Ivan was almost 4 weeks old.  Rule of thumb for newborns is within 10 days of birth for the best results in posing creatively and keeping baby asleep… But Ivan did great, yay Ivan thank you little guy for cooperating with me:)
