Monica Martin Photography Blog bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I’m always so eager to showcase my latest work. I’m a Los Angeles based photographer, a mother of three precious children, and a wife to the same man for 19 years.

My passion for photography started when I was 13 years old. For years I was simply a hobbyist, then when I became a mom for the second time with my son, I decided I wanted nothing more than to become a stay at home working mom. While trying to figure out what kind of work I could do from home I remembered my love for photography. Becoming a children’s photographer is something I‘ve always dreamed of. I can’t tell you how incredibly lucky I feel to be doing something I absolutely love, it’s an incredible feeling. I hope to have the opportunity to capture photos of your family, it would truly be an honor to give you the gift that will last a lifetime and be passed on for generations to come…

My Bunnies

They are everything to me and more!!

Nevaeh is my sweet soul. A few weeks ago, out of no where she brought me her piggy bank and handed it to me, she said “here mom, give all my money to the children in need, to UNICEF and the Children’s Hospital.”  She proceeded to ask me “Why do children get sick, why are there kids who have no parents, why are there poor people who are suffering, my heart hurts for them…..”   She went on and on…She prays and thanks God every morning for everything she has and she is very aware of how fortunate she is.  This is who she is, she is so caring and I am so proud of her kind little soul.

Aside of her kind soul, she’s a Divvvvaaaa! what she will wear to school everyday is a huge production , according to her I don’t know style and she does –huh!  She said bye, bye to the cute headbands and flowers on her head –she’s too cool for that now.  She loves to wear her hair down with nothing in it, I think it looks like a hot mess, but she says “Mom the messier the better.”

Julian is “special” as my husband always says.  And he is so funny, he is definitely in the “kids say the darndest things” faze.  I love asking him questions just because he always cracks me up with his answers, so the other day I asked him “Julian do you think I’m pretty.”   As he made a funny face with hand gestures: “a little bit, I mean mom when you get  dressed up for fancy parties and stuff, ya, you look like a pretty mom, but not really when you wake up and at night time when I see you sleeping you look funny and your hair gets all crazy like a tomato.”He is obsessed with his baby sister Natalia.  he is so in love with her that on a daily basis he asks her for her hand in marriage.  He doesn’t understand why he can’t marry his sister, “Why can’t I marry her, I love her, I want to marry her, she is just so cute.”

Natalia is a handful, but I can just eat her up with all her cuteness.  She is SO bossy, sassy, loves, loves, loves playing with her dolls.  She loves putting on my shoes, and she knows how to play games on an iPhone and on the IPAD.    She is especially obsessed with phones, she digs through purses, anyone’s purse, opens zippers and all and will snatch your phone in a second! hide into a corner and will play with it until she is discovered.

Eddie & Crystal

It was a special day for these love birds, after they tied the knot in front of the judge, we went to the Queen mary for some pics.  They got their drink on and there was so much love in the air!  Oh and can I just tell you all the stares, salutes and respect Eddie received from people that passed him was pretty darn cool!

I have fallen in love with these photos! You really captrued their romance.

My Birthday Girl – Natalia is 2!

Children are so unpredictable, and this is a perfect example….  Yesterday was my baby girls birthday, I ran out to get all her birthday decorations, a dozen red balloons for some quick photos and she wanted nothing to do with it!    Within 30 seconds of taking her to the front yard, she pouted, cried a million tears, and threw the stroller, in seconds 10 of the 12 balloons popped as they landed on the grass — Grrrrrrrrrrr……  all mommy wanted was one cute photo of you with red balloons:( Let the “terrible two’s begin!”

Despite your tantrum Natalia, mommy loves you more than you’ll ever know –Happy Birthday my little mini me.
